“How Shall We Be Healed?” by the Rev. Dr. Wayne Arnason

Rev. Arnason, the author of today’s sermon, writes: “The journey into illness, the will to get well, and the search for healing are some of the most important spiritual journeys that we take in our lives. These are not voluntary journeys, but for most of us they are an inevitable part of what it means to be human.”

The Rev. Dr. Arnason retired in 2016 after a forty-year career in parish ministry, UUA staff and volunteer governance roles within Unitarian Universalism. He has served as President of the UU Ministers Association, Secretary of the UUA, and Chair of the Ministerial Fellowship Committee. In retirement Wayne has engaged in UU historical scholarship, interim ministry, and consultation. He co-authored with his wife Rev. Kathleen Rolenz the widely-read book on UU worship “Worship That Works” (Skinner House, 2nd edition 2017).
