Unitarian Universalism isn’t the only liberal religion, and many beliefs that we hold are held by many. Where does our theology lie? What can we point to when asked not only what we believe, but what is the bedrock of our faith? Rev. Karishma Gottfried believes there are 5 jagged rocks upon which our Faith lies.

In February 2026, the Community Church of New York voted to ordain Karishma Gottfied (she/her) to the Unitarian Universalist ministry. She completed my Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and was ordained by Community Church in May 2026, where she now serves as Minister of Youth and Young Adults, focusing on faith formation, community engagement, and pastoral care for ages 13-30.
