This Sunday, Sept. 6, is National Read a Book Day. It is an opportunity to send children back to school with a new book. Donate a book to your local library, swap books with friends, read a book you loved earlier in your life but haven’t read for a while, finally read one of those books you have in a pile that you have intended to read, read something in a different genre than usual, read to learn, read for enjoyment, and definitely read to a child. In honor of National Read a Book Day, today’s sermon is titled, “Books Make Us More Human”.
