Imbolc is an important festival in Irish history and modern paganism. While the previous festival of Yule honored the return of the sun, Imbolc welcomes the first signs of spring as the Earth starts to show the results of that increase of light and warmth. This day is also celebrated as St. Brigid’s Feast Day, putting a Christian hat on an ancient Celtic goddess, carrying her worship into the modern day.
