Father’s Day each year celebrates the people who fulfill not just the role of “father” but the role of “dad.” Providers, protectors, guides, and teachers, the role of fatherhood is not always embraced equally across those who become biological fathers. Today’s sermon celebrates the many ways that people experience the celebrated role of having or being a dad-like figure in another person’s life, even if they did not have a part in the creation of the child.
