In Greek Mythology, Persephone is the personification of vegetation who becomes Queen of the Underworld when she is abducted by Hades. The Spring Equinox is the celebration of Persephone’s return to the world of the living. What a great metaphor to describe where we are right now! COVID-19 has made us all, to some degree, feel like we have been abducted and trapped in the Land of the Dead. Now, with the vaccine becoming increasingly available, we know that we will soon be able to return to the Land of the Living. This Sunday, let us celebrate Persephone’s Return!
