The CommUUnity Pantry

We at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Riverside are dedicated to meeting the needs of those in our local community who experience food insecurity. For over 10 years we have collected canned and dry goods and hygiene items for distribution locally and to other agencies. However, 2020 created an unprecedented level of need.

In November 2020, the City of Riverside approved a CARES Act grant to facilitate the startup costs of our newly inaugurated CommUUnity Pantry program.

Just before Thanksgiving we held our first CommUUnity Pantry event and served about 30 families. Through the month of December we will expand our outreach and continue weekly food distribution. In January the CommUUnity Pantry will begin further expansion of the outreach efforts and food distribution capacity.

We strive to help bridge the gap many will experience with the end of the current pandemic-connected aid in December, and we can use your help.

Sickles Harvest

Another great way to help out Riverside FNB is by buying a “Mutual Grain Loaf” from the Sickles Harvest web store, this will not buy you a loaf, but allow Sickles Harvest to continue donating loaves to Riverside FNB and Black Power Collective IE, while you’re there, buy yourself a loaf or two. Check out Sickles Harvest’s Instagram.
